WHAT SCIENCE WITHOUT SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY KEEPS GETTING WRONG
Various websites keep posting stories about religion, consciousness, and the science/faith nexus that need to be revised by taking seriously the sciences of sociology and anthropology. For the nth time: 1. There IS a solution to the "hard problem" of consciousness. It has been a "hard problem" because the wrong scientists using the wrong tools have been looking for it in the wrong places. Look to the social my friends. 2. There IS a solution to the God problem. It requires erasing the "truism" that you can't prove or disprove God. You CAN prove there is no God in the transcendental or supernatural sense once you get your head out of the asses of physicists, chemists, biologists, and neuroscientists. Yep, the social again! 3. Science properly understood is not based on faith or individual beliefs. I'll let you figure that one out on your own. HINT: Look to the sociology and anthropology of science.
